Airport assistance directory

Find official assistance pages for airports in Germany, the United Kingdom, Austria, France, Thailand and major international transfer hubs.

Quick answer

Request airport assistance through the airline, travel agent or tour operator when booking, or at least 48 hours before departure. The airport or its assistance provider normally delivers the service on site. Use this directory to find the official contact route.

Questions before using the directory

What can airport assistance do — and what can it not do?

This directory is an orientation tool, not a booking system. Care Collective cannot book airport assistance directly, guarantee assistance quality, guarantee transport of mobility equipment, confirm airline rules or replace the airline, airport, travel agent or tour operator.

Airport pages, forms, phone numbers, assistance providers and procedures can change. Always confirm assistance directly with the airline, travel agent, tour operator and, where relevant, the airport. Keep written confirmation and bring it on travel day.

How do I use this directory?

Search by airport name, city, IATA code or country. Open the official airport assistance page, then confirm the formal assistance request with the airline, travel agent or tour operator.

If the airport offers additional call points, service desks, email addresses or accessibility information, use the official airport page for current details.

  • Request assistance as early as possible, ideally when booking
  • Use the 48-hour rule as the minimum planning standard
  • Describe the actual support need, not only the diagnosis
  • State whether stairs are possible or impossible
  • State whether help is needed to the gate, aircraft door or aircraft seat
  • Register wheelchairs, scooters, batteries, mobility aids and assistance dogs with the airline
  • Check arrival and departure assistance separately
  • Keep confirmation in writing and offline

The airport page helps you understand the local service. The formal pre-notification often still has to go through the airline or booking channel.

Further airport assistance questions

What should I tell the airline or airport?

A useful assistance request should describe the real support need. A vague note such as “wheelchair needed” may not be enough.

  • Can the traveller walk short distances?
  • Can the traveller climb stairs?
  • Is help needed to the gate, aircraft door or aircraft seat?
  • Is an aisle chair needed?
  • Is step-free boarding required?
  • Is the traveller bringing a manual wheelchair, powered wheelchair, walker, cane, crutches or scooter?
  • What are the dimensions and weight of mobility equipment?
  • What battery type and battery capacity does powered equipment use?
  • Is a companion travelling?
  • Are there hidden disabilities, sensory needs, communication needs or cognitive needs?
  • Does the traveller need additional time, quieter communication or written instructions?

Keep the confirmation and all mobility-equipment information offline, not only in an email app that may not be accessible at the airport.

How can Care Collective help with airport assistance?

Care Collective can help travellers and relatives understand which airport assistance questions need to be prepared, especially when mobility needs, language barriers, medical concerns or equipment rules make the journey more complex.

Care Collective may help with:

  • identifying the relevant airport assistance page
  • explaining the difference between airline booking, airport execution and local PRM desks
  • structuring the assistance request in clear language
  • preparing questions about wheelchair, scooter, battery and transfer needs
  • helping relatives understand which confirmation should be kept in writing
  • linking airport assistance planning with the wider mobility, insurance and medical travel plan

Care Collective cannot book airport assistance directly unless this is explicitly part of a future paid service process. It cannot guarantee the airport’s performance, airline approval, equipment handling or on-board personal care.
